Rena Yung | Music Therapist & Music Teacher

Rena developed a passion for music at a young age. She is a classically trained pianist and has obtained her Level 10 Piano Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She also went on and completed her Bachelor’s of Music Therapy at Wilfrid Laurier University. Rena is a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) and Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) with The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy.

 

Rena’s past experiences consist of working with individuals, both adults and children, with specials needs, geriatrics, and deafblind. She has also worked in day programs, educational settings, summer camps, and has provided adapted piano lessons to individuals in the past.

 

Rena believes in a client-centered approach where the individuals are expressing themselves and their thoughts. She hopes through her knowledge and passion for music she can support this and allow clients to express themselves to the fullest of their ability.

 

INSTRUMENTS TAUGHT: Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Rudiments Theory, Adapted Music Lessons, Music Therapy Sessions.

 

Rena is a Certified MTA in Good Standing.
